BACKGROUND CHECK INFORMATION

Anyone employed by the school or is assigned duties involving interaction with or the regular responsibility for children are required to have a current background check.

We use the Highland County Sheriff’s office for our background checks.  They require a specific form and the correct codes to complete the background checks.  Below are the forms with everything filled in EXCEPT your personal information.

 

Please print off the appropriate form and complete the top portion.

 

LICENSED STAFF – Administrators, Teachers, Paraprofessionals, Athletics

  Forms:   New Hire (must be received prior to first day of employment)

                Renewing License (check license for expiration date)

 

NON-LICENSED STAFF - Cooks, Custodians, Maintenance, Secretaries

  Forms:    New Hire (must be received prior to first day of employment)

                 Renewing Background Check (every 5 years)

 

BUS/VAN DRIVERS – Bus, Van, Float

  Forms:   New Hire (must be received prior to first day of employment)

                Renewing Preservice Testing (every 6 years)

 

SUBSTITUTE STAFF – Non-Licensed (Cooks, Custodians, Maintenance, Secretary)

  Forms:   New Hire (must be received prior to first day of employment)

                Renewing Background Check (every 5 years if continued employment)

 

VOLUNTEERS – Classroom, Field Trips, etc. (must be received prior to activity/event)

  Form:     School Volunteer (every 18 months)

    The Head Cook helps oversee the daily operation of our school kitchen, including preparing breakfast and lunch, supervising cafeteria staff, maintaining a safe and clean kitchen, managing inventory and food orders, and ensuring meals meet required standards. 

    Ideal candidates will have:

    • High school diploma or GED
    • Related experience
    • Strong communication and organizational skills
    • Ability to supervise and work effectively with others
    • Ability to prepare meals in large quantities and follow standardized recipes
    • A positive attitude and commitment to serving our students

    The position requires someone who can work quickly and efficiently during meal service while maintaining positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
