Superintendent's Message

May 1, 2020

Hi folks,

This is Superintendent Tim Dettwiller.

I would like to share new information on several school related topics with you.

First, graduation is being planned to be a drive-in style ceremony to be held in our high school parking lots. The event will be held on the current date of May 22, 2020 at 6:00pm. As we finalize these plans we will share them directly to our seniors and their parents.

Prom has been rescheduled to July 11, 2020. If, at that date,  the Governor's orders still do not allow gatherings of this size we would be forced to cancel the prom. Look for more information to come on our Prom.

Beginning Monday May 4, 2020 8:00am the final learning packets will be available at the high school entrance for high school students and at the middle school entrance for middle and elementary students. All packets will be available electronically as previously provided.  If your child has completed work previously online then you will not need to pick up a packet. Tubs will also be available on Monday for the return of completed learning materials that cannot be submitted electronically.

Beginning Monday May 11 through Thursday May 14, 2020 students may begin entering the buildings to pick up their personal belongings and to return school books, devices and uniforms. A schedule as to when you and your child may enter the building will be provided to you by your building principal.  Look for this schedule next week. If you come to the building outside your assigned time window you will not be allowed to enter. Parents and students are asked to wear masks when entering the school buildings.

Kindergarten registration packets are available both online and in the Board office vestibule. Please complete and return the packets to the Board office as soon as possible.

I would like to thank the parents, students and our amazing staff for the focus and dedication we have seen in the completion of the learning packets, participation in online classes and sharing of positive acts by you and our students. The Fairfield family is an amazing group of people which has never been more evident than during this time of crisis.

Thank you and stay safe,

Tim Dettwiller
Superintendent
